Pardhu (Lawrence) makes money by doing menial jobs and sends it to his family back in Usilampatti. Here the story goes into a flashback where Pardhu is portrayed as a easygoing youth who is repeatedly scolded by his father (Nazar). He wins the love of his mother (Saranya), but his elder brother (Sreeman) turns out to be his father’s favorite son. Pardhu comes across Sneha, a cop’s daughter, and love blossoms between the two. Meanwhile a Pardhu’s sister gets engaged and the wedding ceremony is arranged. Sreeman runs away from the house with the money kept for the wedding and everybody is in shock at the turn of events.Pandhu borrows money from a private money-lender and gets his sister married. At this point, Sneha walks out of the house to enter wedlock with Pardhu. Pardhu in order to overcome the financial pinch leaves home and takes up a job abroad as a conservancy staff. He settles his debts and stabilizes his family with his earnings. However on his return, he is shocked to find his mother dead. He learns that his mother’s death was not a natural one and proceeds to take his revenge on the killers. The rest of the story forms the climax.
