Bandh was Callep Up By -Murali Mohan


Telugu Film industry has withdrawn the call for bandh on Friday (Mar 18, 2010). “We are satisfied with plans envisioned by the state government. Minister Geeta Reddy responded quickly on our fight against piracy and promised to take all the necessary steps immediately,” said producer Shyam Prasad Reddy after meeting Geeta Reddy, minister for cinematography.

Minister Geeta Reddy said: “We will streamline and regularize all the video parlours in Andhra Pradesh. And will take stringent actions against pirates.”

The other day, the Movie Artists' Association (MAA) president, Murali Mohan, gave a call for bandh of all cinema halls and film shootings on March 19. And the Telugu film industry responded in a big way to the indefinite fast launched by film producer Ravichand to demand stern measures by the government to check piracy. So far, several top actors including Nagarjuna, Junior NTR, Prabhas, Nagachaitanya, Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja Bhumika, producers Thammareddy Bharadwaja, D.Suresh Babu, Dil Raju, directors Teja, Puri Jagannadh Surender Reddy and others called on the fasting producer and expressed their support.
